I spent a year on secondment working mostly with Teachers, Social Workers, Housing Officers and Voluntary sector colleagues promoting Restorative Practice. For me, this and mediation, and coaching approaches have an overlap, in that we work to inquire and understand, rather than judge. We ask open questions.

As an effective mediator, the IanRobertson.Coach approach is to utilise a range of skills appropriate to the circumstances when mediating. Mediation is used more and more to support the resolution of conflict in a wide variety of situations. I trained as a Mediator with the Scottish Mediation Centre and have subsequently participated in Non-Violent Communication, and Active Bystander trainings.
